6th National Youth Women's Boxing Championships: Manipur take the honours

Manipur Women Pugilists with the Championship Trophy and Sarjubala Devi with Best Boxers Trophy

Manipur dominated the proceedings on the final day of the 6th National Youth Women’s Boxing Championships at Guwahati and comfortably annexed the Championship Trophy by winning 3 Gold Medals and totaling 28 pts. Hosts Assam fought gamely to get the Runners up Trophy with 2 Gold Medals and 25 points while Punjab with 1 Gold and 19 points stood third.

Sarjubala Devi (48 kgs) of Manipur was declared the best boxer while Anita Kahar (51 kgs) of Assam was declared the ‘Best Loser’. Mr. Tirath Rout (Orissa) was declared the ‘Best Referee’ and Mr. Pradeep Bisht (Delhi) was declared the ‘Best Judge’.

51 kgs Sonia (Haryana) defeated Anita Kahar (Assam) on points 8:5

54 kgs Philao (Assam) Defeated Lakia Soyiban (Manipur) on points 6:1

57 kgs Sony Chanu (Man) defeated Priyanka (Pun) on points 2:0

60 kgs Anjali Mochari (Assam) defeated Mukesh Kumar (Haryana) points 7:2

64 kgs Monika Soun (Pun) defeated Minu Basmati (Assam) points 3:1

69 kgs Memthoi Devi (Manipur) defeated Heena Tokas (Delhi) points 6:2

75 kgs Princy (Ker) defeated Namrata (MP) points 2:2 (3:2)

81 kgs Jagmeet Kaur (Uttarakhand) defeated Amandeep (Punjab) points 1:8

85 + kgs Nidhi (Haryana) defeated Tanuja Joshi (Uttarakhand) RSC (OC) 3rd Rd
