Floyd Mayweather vs. Andre Berto confirmed on September 12th at the MGM Grand Las Vegas

Mayweather will defend his welterweight world titles against Andre Berto

The undefeated American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. will be back in the ring, after his fight against Manny Pacquiao in May, which was termed as the “Fight Of The Century.” Floyd will be facing the current WBA Welterweight Interim Champion, Andre Berto on September 12th at the Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Below are the words from the boxers:

Mayweather’s words :

"I'm ready to get back in the ring on Sept. 12 and prove again to the whole world why I'm the best ever, I always bring my A-game, and this fight against Andre Berto is no exception. He's a young, strong fighter who is hungry to take down the best. Forty-eight have tried before, and on Sept. 12, I'm going to make it 49."

Berto’s words :

"I'm coming to kick Floyd's ass on Sept. 12, Best believe that I plan to bring it to Floyd and I'm not concerned about what 48 other fighters have been unable to do. Somebody is getting knocked out, and it won't be me. You don't want to miss this."

Showtime Sports gave the confirmation of the matchup on Tuesday. The undercard fight for the night is the WBC super middleweight title fight between George Groves and Badou Jack. While Roman Martinez and Orlando Salido rematch after their super featherweight "fight of the year" candidate this past April.
