Indian Boxing : Big Guns meet at the finals of 34th National Games

It was time for semi-final action of the boxing event at the 34th National Games in the JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur and the day got off to a blistering start.

Youth Commonwealth Games champion Nanao Singh, continued his winning streak in the light fly weight category with a win over Sandeep Singh of Tripura on points 12:0. The 2009 National Champion though, will have his hands full in the final where he meets Amandeep Singh of Punjab. Amandeep, a bronze medalist at the Commonwealth games, trounced Sanjay Kolte of the services on points 5:1.

In the bantam weight section Shiva Thapa of Assam, playing his first senior level tournament, was up against Bajrang of Haryana. Bronze medalist at the 2010 commonwealth games, Dilbag Singh of Haryana, in the 69 Kg category, started slow against Mandeep Jangra of Delhi but gained momentum in the third round.
