Rahman Ali, brother of boxing legend Muhammed Ali, has recently said that his brother is so ill that he could die in a few days. He says that Muhammed is unable to speak, nor recognize him.

Rahman has told sources “My brother can’t speak, he doesn’t recognise me. He’s in a bad way. He’s very sick. It could be months, it could be days. I don’t know if he’ll last the summer. He’s in God’s hands. We hope he gently passes away.” He went onto say that, “He told me before he got really bad that he’s in no pain. He grabbed my arm and whispered ‘Rah, I’ve achieved everything I’ve ever wanted to accomplish. Don’t cry for me, I’m in no pain.’ It’s best he goes now. The longer he goes on, so does his suffering and misery.”

Muhammed Ali is a Gold medalist from the 1960 Olympics and 3 time World Heavy Weight Champion. Ali, currently 71, has had a number of famous fights. Few of his most notable ones are the ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ with George Foreman, in 1974 and ‘Thrilla in Manila’ against Joe Frazier, a year later.

In 1984, Ali was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, but continued to be active for many more years. Probably his most memorable feat was when he lit the Olympic Flame in 1996.
