Vijender Singh, who has been unbeaten so far in his professional boxing career, will face French boxer Matiouze Royer in his fifth professional bout at Stratford's Copper Box Arena in London on April 30. The Olympic bronze medalist defeated Alexander Horvath of Hungary quite easily in his last bout.

29-year-old Royer is believed to be the toughest opponent for Vijender so far in his professional career. The Frenchman hails from Bayonne in South West France and has fought in 44 professional bouts in his career, with 14 wins. Moreover, Royer has fought in over 250 rounds of professional boxing whereas Vijender in only 9.

Vijender duly acknowledged the fact that his opponent has a lot of experience his belt and said that he will have to produce his best to overcome the Frenchman.

"2016 is shaping up to be a massive year for me. I have a busy few months ahead of me and will be looking to carry on my KO streak with another big performance against Royer. He's an experienced fighter so I'll need to be at my very best to overcome him.

“Once I've dealt with him I'll be looking ahead to my next date in Bolton before gearing up for my massive homecoming in India this summer," he said.

Notably, Vijender’s fight will be undercard of World Champions Billy Joe Saunders' title defence against Max Bursak. The Indian expressed his excitement over the fact that he will be fighting in the same card as Billy Joe Saunders and said, “I'm thrilled to be fighting on the same card as WBO world middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders.

“Saunders is in the position that I want to be in one day, the middleweight champion of the world. It will be my first time fighting in the capital of England and I can't wait to show the people of London my explosive power.”

The 30-year-old left for London after his bout with the Hungarian boxer, which took place at the Liverpool Echo Arena on March 12.

Vijender will also feature in WBO Asia title fight on June 11, which will be his first professional fight in India. Recently, he also invited Sachin Tendulkar for the fight which will take place in New Delhi. However, the name of Indian’s opponent is yet to be announced.
