Ukrainian world boxing champion Vitali Klitschko will defend his heavyweight title against Germany’s Manuel Charr in Moscow on September 8.

Klitschko, 40, enjoys a professional record of 44-2 with 40 KOs and the bout at the 30,000-capacity SC Olimpiyski sports arena in Moscow will be his 17th world heavyweight championship fight.

“Charr is young, hungry and undefeated,” said Klitschko. “He is afraid of nobody, always marching forward. I know that he will be extremely motivated against me and that is why I will definitely not make the mistake to underestimate him.

“I will give my answer to all his trash talking inside the ring on September 8.”

The Beirut-born Charr, 27, is unbeaten in his professional career, with 21 wins and 11 KOs, and is ranked seventh in WBC standings.

“Vitali will see in my eyes that he cannot win the fight,” Charr said. “Many think I will come to lose but I am coming to win. I will shock Vitali and the boxing world and get his title.”
