College baseball fans reacted to the announcement of this year's Golden Spikes Award, which went to Georgia Bulldogs utility Charlie Condon. He beat finalists Travis Bazzana of Oregon State and pitcher Hagen Smith of Arkansas for the annual award.

It was tallied from the votes of national baseball media, select professional baseball personnel and USA baseball staff, fans and previous winners of the award. However, many fans wondered why Florida two-way player Jac Caglianone wasn't even nominated for the honor.

"Jac is supposed to be here. Change my mind," a fan wrote on the Instagram piece posted by the Golden Spikes Award, NCAA Baseball and Baseballism.
"Funny that the best player wasn’t sitting at that table. @jac.caglianone," a fan of the game added.

Another compared the Florida star with the three candidates and felt that Caglianone was snubbed by the committee determining the candidates for the annual award.

"Jac Caglianone is better than two of those dudes combined and better by the 3rd by a large margin. The biggest golden spikes snub of all time," he wrote.

One fan believed that Tennessee's Christian Moore, Caglianone and Texas A&M's Braden Montgomery were more deserving than the trio of Condon, Bazzana and Smith.

"Cags (Caglianone), Monty (Montgomery) and CMo (Moore) clear all," a baseball follower said.

"Christian Moore & Cags run circles around these guys! What a joke!!," another fan added.

One user pointed out that Condon, Smith and Bazzana didn't make it to the College World Series, compared to Caglianone, who helped the Gators make this year's CWS semifinals at the Charles Schwab Field Omaha and the national finals the year before.

"None of those guys even made it to Omaha😭😭," a baseball fan wrote.
