The Iowa Hawkeyes star was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa, on January 22, 2002. Her family hasn't moved much and her parents have lived in the city for a long time.

Caitlin Clark's parents have supported her basketball career

When she was only 2 or 3 years old, Caitlin Clark showed signs of being a future athlete. Her daycare reported exceptional motor skills and coordination, which are very important for athletes. Furthermore, the child was very competitive and wanted to beat the rest of the kids.

Clark's parents recognized her skills and enlisted her in many activities. Besides basketball, their daughter was also involved in soccer, tennis, softball and volleyball. She was also attending piano lessons.

Anne Nizzi Clark, Caitlin's mother, is of Italian descent. While it doesn't seem that she was actively involved in sports herself, Anne's father was a football coach at Dowling Catholic High School.

Caitlin and her mother love spending time in the kitchen together. The basketball star is a big fan of baking sweets and her mom has made food for the Iowa Hawkeyes several times.

When it comes to Brent Clark, Caitlin Clark's father, he somewhat knows what it feels like to be in his daughter's shoes. Brent was a 4-sport athlete at Indianola High School and played basketball and baseball while attending Simpson College.

Clark also coached a second-grade team at the AAU state tournament. One of the players on his team was his daughter, who was so good that the parents of the opposing team complained that girls shouldn't be allowed to play on the boys teams.
