Koa Peat, the 6-foot-9 power forward, is set to join the son of the four-time NBA champion LeBron James, Bryce James, next season. Peat finished a stellar high school basketball career at Perry in Gilbert, Arizona, and is ranked eighth nationally, as per On3's Industry Rankings.
With Peat starting his collegiate journey at the Arizona Wildcats, a famous basketball page, "PDT," shared some highlights of the power forward on Monday. It also compared him to the 2022-23 NBA Rookie of the Year, Paolo Banchero. The post was reshared by Koa Peat on his IG story with a one-word reaction.
"Baskets,'' he captioned his story.

"Incoming Arizona Freshman Koa Peat is going to be one of the best Freshmen in CBB next season. The 6’9 5 star was one of the best players in his class who averaged 21/7/2 while shooting 50% from the field for the Compton Magic and averaged 18/5/2 on 62% shooting for Team USA 17U," the post was captioned.
"Koa is an extremely skilled scorer at the rim and from the mid range. Koa shot an impressive 70% at the rim while creating most of those looks and being an off ball threat with his athleticism and cutting ability," read an excerpt from the post's caption.
Peat, who is ranked fourth in the power forward position and first in Arizona, was a popular figure among colleges. He received offers from Arizona State, Texas, Houston and North Carolina, among others.
However, he decided to sign with the Wildcats on March 27, becoming the youngest sibling to play at a collegiate level. He talked about his decision with ESPN.
"I chose Arizona, head coach Tommy Lloyd and his staff because I know I will be pushed," Peat said. "It's a winning program, and all I want to do is win."
