Oliviyah Edwards, the No. 4 prospect in the Class of 2025, was the assistant coach for Team JuJu at the Overtime Select event last Friday.
On Thursday, the five-star power forward shared several photos from the event. Edwards can be seen wearing a short-sleeve button-down shirt with blue and white vertical stripes paired with bright blue athletic shorts and white sneakers. She smiled brightly in the pictures taken in the tunnel area.
"Tunnel Vision 🥶🪼💙 #tunnelvision #overtime," Edwards wrote in the caption.
At the Gatorade-sponsored Overtime Select Takeover in Atlanta, USC's JuJu Watkins and LSU's Flau’jae Johnson coached opposing teams in the “Next Up 5s” series. Watkins’ Team JuJu defeated Team Flau’jae 80–64 and eventually won the series 3–1.
Although Edwards was an assistant coach for Team JuJu, Watkins described her as more of a “mascot” than a coach in a conversation with Jessie Moses.
“I wouldn’t necessarily say Big Oh was a part of our coaching staff,” Watkins said. “I would say she was more like … mascot. Like, yeah, she brought the energy.”
“I think her and her bear played the same amount of role in our win," Moses said.
Being one of the top players in her class, Edwards has been targeted by South Carolina Gamecocks coach Dawn Staley.
