Shelomi Sanders, daughter of Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, added a new presence to her off-court routine last fall – a black cat named Blayze.
The adoption took place in September, shortly after Shelomi transferred to play college basketball at Alabama A&M. Although her father was initially concerned about the move, Shelomi received full support from her mother, Pilar Sanders. Pilar announced the addition of Blayze on her YouTube channel on Sept. 2.
Blayze has since become a part of Shelomi Sanders' daily routine, offering companionship during the season.
On Friday, Shelomi posted a TikTok video featuring a moment with Blayze. In the clip, she wore a gray Nike hoodie while the cat rested beside her. The caption read:
“Don’t care about nun cs this is how my baby boy looks at me.”
The video clip showed her off-court life, as she continues to settle into her new program at Alabama A&M.
Shelomi Sanders backed by consistent family support from her mother
Shelomi Sanders has transferred to Alabama A&M as she continues her college basketball career. This move also marks a shift from Colorado, where she had been with the program while her father coached football.
Deion Sanders was unhappy with the transfer; he called it "stupid." On the contrary, Shelomi's mother, Pilar, supported her daughter completely. Pilar kept the public informed of the daughter's recovery and training.
“She’s working out, she’s training, she just had surgery on her foot, so she recovered well,” Pilar said in September (4:15).
Pilar remained active in attending games while balancing support for her daughter in the adjustment phase at Alabama A&M. The transfer helped Shelomi take her basketball development away from the media glare her father's position was getting at Colorado.
This program at Alabama A&M provides a new environment for her playing career, backed by her mother's steady support.
