The Texas A&M Aggies are coming off a disappointing end to their 2024-25 season. After having a strong season, they were a four-seed in March Madness. However, after defeating Yale in the first round, they lost to the Michigan Wolverines 91-79 in the second round.

Heading into next year, the Aggies are trying to ensure they do not have a similarly disappointing aspect. While they put in effort to find recruits and transfers in standard ways, they also looked overseas for talent. On Friday, On3 reported that Spanish shooting guard Ruben Dominguez has committed to Texas A&M:

"Spanish shooting guard Ruben Dominguez has committed to Texas A&M, he told On3. The 6’6”, 22-year-old brings four years of pro experience to Bucky Ball, most recently competing for Bilbao Basket in Spain’s top basketball league. Known as an elite shooter."

At 22, he will be one of the older players in college basketball next season. Despite that, he should be a strong asset for the Aggies. He played for Bilbao Basket in Liga ACB, the top professional basketball league in Spain, last season. He is known for his shooting ability, making shots from the 3-point range at a 41.5% clip this past season.

He should be an asset for Aggies coach Bucky McMillan as Texas A&M try to improve on their 2024-25 season.

Ruben Dominguez improves a weak 2025 recruiting class for the Texas A&M Aggies

While the Texas A&M Aggies have improved in recent years, qualifying for the NCAA tournament three years in a row, they are still not a popular recruit destination. According to 247Sports, Texas A&M was only able to sign one recruit this offseason, Jeremiah Green.

Green is a four-star point guard from Chandler, Arizona. He is the No. 131-ranked player in the nation, according to 247Sports, and the No. 19-ranked point guard. With Ruben Dominguez committing to the Aggies, their recruiting class should be slightly improved. However, it is often hard to judge how European talents will perform in North America.

While the Aggies did not have much success on the recruiting front, they had a good transfer class. They had 10 players transfer to their team, making them the No. 20-ranked transfer class this year.

With the team experiencing a lot of turnover, Aggies coach Bucky McMillan will face challenges next season. He will need to get his team to mesh together to ensure they do not take a step back.
