The Army National Guard Next Up Fives game was held at the OTE Arena in Atlanta on Saturday. It featured two high school teams, one coached by Flau'jae Johnson, and the other by JuJu Watkins. Team JuJu won the series 3-1.
While the LSU star and the USC star are rivals on the court, they are friends and had some photos taken when they hung out at Overtime Elite's hype hall. Johnson's stepdad, Ameen Brooks, reposted a photo on his social media account.
"Hard," Brooks wrote on his Instagram story on Wednesday.

There was a lot of trash talking between Watkins and Johnson ahead of the big game, but the two remained cordial. Watkins admitted that it was her first time coaching, while it was Johnson's second time. She also coached in last year's event against UConn's Paige Bueckers. The Tigers guard also lost in 2024.
Watkins is expected to return to USC, which had a disappointing run in this year's NCAA Tournament. The same can be said for Johnson, whose LSU team will be bolstered next season, with some additions such as South Carolina transfer MiLaysia Fulwiley and four five-star recruits.
Flau'jae Johnson reveals she is not friends with former teammate Angel Reese
Flau'jae Johnson has been caught in some drama with Chicago Sky star Angel Reese, whom she won an NCAA national title with in 2023 at LSU. During Monday's episode of "The Breakfast Club," she opened up on her rift with her former teammate.
“We’re not friends,” Johnson said. “But that bond we had, and that thing we did together, win the national championship, you can never take that away from us.”
The duo helped the Tigers defeat Caitlin Clark and Iowa. Johnson added that the cause of the rift was “a lot of media” and “locker room stuff."
“Stuff happens," Johnson said. "You wish it didn’t, but it do. And you just gotta grow."
The rift is not just between Johnson and Reese, as their mothers also had a public spat in 2023. However, Johnson made it clear that she holds no grudges and still has a lot of respect for Reese.
