Bronny James made his decision to declare for the 2024 NBA draft, and now his younger brother, Bryce James, became the talk of the town over the weekend. Thanks to an incredible performance by the high schooler, Bryce rode the social media wavelengths as he competed for Strive for Greatness EYBL as they took on Cali Rebels in West Mania by the Elite Hoops Association and Made Hoops.
In a clip shared by "courtsidefilms" on Instagram, fans can see the Sierra Canyon guard get to work on the court, displaying a smooth shooting stroke as well as some brilliant defensive instincts.
As he rained down jumpers left and right, a few blocks made their way to the highlight reel as well, along with a plethora of dribble penetrations inside.
Looking at the highlight clip, fans turned to the comments section to hype up Bryce James. Fans compared him to Bronny James, and a host of comments anointed Bryce as the better of the two.
"He better than Bronny James," a fan posted.
The other comparison for his playstyle came in the form of one of LeBron James' biggest rivals, Kevin Durant. With a smooth jumper to boot and incredible scoring acumen, fans were quick to call the 6-foot-6 Bryce a "young KD."
For some, though, the highlight package was too much, given that Bryce James had six points in the previous game against the Oakland Soldiers. Meanwhile, the Rebels beat Bryce and his team on Sunday.
Bryce James' funny interaction with LeBron James
With the NBA playoffs in full swing, LA Lakers star LeBron James was getting some at-home practice alongside his son, going through some shooting drills in his backyard.
However, Bryce did not take it easy on his dad, at one point even calling him "trash." Equally ready to respond, LeBron fired back by declaring himself the GOAT.
Even though he was making every shot, in line with his career-high 41% shooting from 3 this season, Bryce James took to calling his father's shots "lucky." Not one to miss a beat, LeBron reinforced the idea of his standing as the greatest of all time:
"That's why I'm the GOAT, bro. I'm GOAT, bro. G.O. A. T. Who are you talking to?"
