Duke Blue Devils freshman Kon Knueppel caught the attention of fans and media with his remarkable 3-point shooting skills during offseason workouts at K Center. The 6-foot-5 small forward from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, went to the Wisconsin Lutheran High School.

The Blue Devils shared clips of Knueppel's jaw-dropping display on their social media on Wednesday. The post featured a few pictures and three videos showcasing his shooting skills from beyond the 3-point line.

Knueppel's accuracy was flawless as he drained an impressive 28 out of 29 3-point attempts. His Duke teammates Tyrese Proctor and Mason Gillis were left amazed by his mastery as they cheered him on in awe.

The first clip shows Knueppel making all 12 catch-and-shoot shots. He hit five from the right corner, five from the right wing, and two from the top of the key. The forward also made 11 out of 12 one-dribble pull-up shots.

Duke coach Jon Scheyer will have a lethal asset on his roster for the upcoming season if Kon Knueppel can play like this in real games.

"Kon Knueppel is going to be such a great addition," Scheyer said. "He can shoot with the best of them and can score with the best of them. But it's his ability to make others better — to pass, to handle — and he's a tough competitor on the defensive end as well. And that versatility, with that winning pedigree that he brings to the table, will be terrific for our program."

How Jon Scheyer's Duke will benefit from Kon Knueppel?

The Duke Blue Devils have landed a gem with Kon Knueppel, who will add strength and versatility to their roster. A graduate of Wisconsin Lutheran High, Knueppel was named the 2024 Jordan Brand Classic and won the Wisconsin Mr. Basketball award.

He averaged 25.9 points, 8.6 rebounds and 5.3 assists for the Wisconsin Lutheran Vikings in 2023-24, leading them to state championship glory.

During his senior year, Knueppel made 39.5% of his shots from 3-point range. He also played for Phenom University and was the top scorer in the Nike EYBL, averaging 22.5 points per game while shooting 47.5% from beyond the arc.

His combination of sharpshooting skills, offensive versatility and clutch shooting will be crucial for the Blue Devils. Having a reliable 3-point shooter in Knueppel will be crucial to win closed games.

"He's a guy that believes in what Duke basketball is all about," Scheyer said about Kon Knueppel after his commitment to the program in November 2023.

Moreover, Duke will benefit from Knueppel's offensive versatility since he can score from different positions on the court.
