Akron vs Northern Illinois: Preview

Akron is a 15.5-point road underdog with the over/under set at 46.5 points.
The Zips are coming off a 41-30 loss to Buffalo. Akron trailed 38-7 going into the fourth as the Zips had a big fourth quarter to make the game look closer than it actually was.
Akron is led by Ben Finley who's thrown for 1,955 yards, 12 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. The Zips also go to Tahj Bullock at times who is a rushing quarterback and the two are good friends which helps the offense.
“We have a strong advantage in the run game when Tahj is in there because he's obviously way bigger than me, and I wish I could run the ball like him,” Finley said, via Akron Becon Journal. “But I have full confidence when he's out there. It's all about just game plan and matchup, and when we see we have an advantage with Tahj on the field, we're going to stick him out there.
I run off [the field and to] the sideline feeling totally confident that we're going to get the first down and he's going to have a big run. [Saturday], he had a big throw [for 20 yards]. But, yeah, I love watching him out there, and I love us both being out there at the same time, too. That's fun.”
Akron is also led by Jordan Simmons who has rushed for 495 yards and 2 touchdowns. Adrian Norton has 667 yards and 6 touchdowns. Defensively, Akron is led by Bennett Adler who has 3 sacks, and Bryan McCoy has 85 tackles.
Northern Illinois, meanwhile, is coming off a statement win over Western Michigan. The Huskies are led by Ethan Hampton who has 1,256 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions. Antario Brown has rushed for 567 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Defensively, Nate Valcarcel has two interceptions, Devonte O'Malley has 5.5 sacks, and Jaden Dolphin has 46 tackles.
Northern Illinois has played well this season while Akron struggles mightily on defense. The Huskies will be able to score early and often against this Zips defense to cruise to a lopsided win at home here.
