While Deion Sanders is known for his flashy lifestyle before and after his playing career, he once opted for a tiny home. The Pro Football Hall of Famer was featured in an episode of the television show “Tiny House Nation,” where he embraced living in a tiny home in January 2017.

Hosts of the show John Weisbarth and Zack Giffin built Sanders a 600-square-foot diminutive dwelling of his dreams at Cedar Hills for him to live in. That episode of the reality show was one not to forget for fans, as they got to see “Prime Time” living a much more humble lifestyle.

Tracey Edmonds, who was then Deion Sanders' girlfriend, also dropped by for a visit from Los Angeles on the show during his stay in the house. It gave fans a glimpse of the relationship between the celebrity couple in a much smaller setting than what they were used to.

Deion Sanders discussed going tiny on the show

Before his feature on “Tiny House Nation,” Deion Sanders had for a few years begun to intensely downsize his living space. The former Dallas Cowboys cornerback sold his huge 29,000-square-foot mansion in 2014 and moved into a 7,000-square-foot rental in Dallas.

The house had his mother, sister, nieces and nephews as well as his five kids who come and go, along with other family members who drop in for long stays. He explained why he decided to live in a much smaller home, during his feature on the show.

“I want to go tiny because I’ve been through huge and humongous and wanting everyone to know that I’m successful, but I’m past that,” Sanders explains on the show. “Now it’s about needs, not wants.”

Does Deion Sanders live in a tiny home in Boulder?

Deion Sanders continued his trend of living in a downsized home when he became the head coach of Colorado.

He moved into a 6,457-square-foot home in Boulder, which is located in a gated community in Boulder County. That was the same during his days at Jackson State.

However, his three sons brought him a big mansion in Boulder in 2024, which suggests a long-term stay as coach of Colorado than many assume. In a video posted by Well Off Media, Sanders joked about how his son put up the surprise for him:

"You know what's awesome, though? My three sons had the thought process that they wanted me to see this. Because you all want to make sure I'm straight," Sanders said.

Coach Prime is set for his second season at Colorado, but it’s unknown where he will stay between the two houses he now owns.
