Jets QB Aaron Rodgers claims "stealing the signals was always a part of what was going on" as Michigan scandal gains traction online

The Michigan scandal has been getting mainstream attention to the point where NFL players are discussing it. There are all different types of discussions surrounding the alleged Michigan scandal and one of the biggest voices about it has been New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

While making his weekly appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers discussed the Michigan scandal and how it should not be viewed as anything other than getting an advantage.

The former Super Bowl champ mentioned that he did not know there was a difference between the NFL and NCAA in terms of scouting.

"I was in the old system in the old NFL before there was a headset, microphone and the defensive headset, so stealing the signals was always part of what was going on. And there were certain guys over the years who had had that as a responsibility ... (in college) I didn't realize that you weren't allowed to do advanced scouting, sending guys to another place to scout on them. I find that very interesting..."

However, Rodgers makes one thing abundantly clear: he is not factoring the Michigan scandal into their second-ranked standing in the nation.

"So I think it's a little more intricate than just like, oh my gosh, what a scandal. Now in college football with the rules and I read the article yesterday with how many different games this person was going to and they were sitting on one side and the other side. It seems like there was some sort of elaborate scheme that was going on. But you still got to execute it." H/t On3

What exactly happened in the Michigan scandal?

The Michigan Wolverines have been one of the top programs in college football but the Michigan scandal regarding stealing signs Michigan assistant coach Connor Stalions is being accused of stealing signs of the opponents and traveling to games of the Wolverines' future opponents to gain an advantage.

The Wolverines have already dealt with some NCAA infractions that forced coach Jim Harbaugh to be suspended for the first three games of the season.

This could be something the NCAA will hammer down with more significant sanctions for the program. With this potentially being electronic sign stealing as well, this can open up a whole can of worms.
