Bill Belichick defends GF, Jordon Hudson, amid scrutiny over involvement in UNC football: "Been noise out there about a lot of different things"

Bill Belichick denied that his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, has any role in the UNC football program amid speculation about her involvement.

According to reports, Belichick asked UNC staff to copy Hudson on all emails involving him and that she was seen on the practice field speaking with staff. Pablo Torre reported that the UNC leadership banned Hudson from team facilities, but the university later denied that.

“No, she doesn’t have any role in the UNC football program,” Belichick said Tuesday (according to On3). “There’s been noise out there about a lot different things. Again, our focus is day-to-day getting better, stacking good days together, having good rest and recovery, training, moving forward the next day.

“From the coaching staff, to focus on how do we help our team get better? That’s my job. That’s our staff’s job, to put a good plan in place so that if they do the work, they see improvement. So that’s what our job is.”

Belichick said that Hudson assists with his personal logistics, including public appearances and autograph requests. Per reports, the coach remained firm that his girlfriend’s presence is unrelated to football operations.

Alleged rumors about Jordon Hudson’s presence at UNC has grown since Bill Belichick became the program's coach. Hudson, a former cheerleader, has appeared with Belichick at multiple events and manages his public appearances and brand.

However, UNC confirmed that she holds no role with the football program and denied reports that she's banned from team facilities.

Reports that Hudson, 24, influenced team decisions or canceled a planned docuseries have been denied by both Belichick and UNC.

Bill Belichick will make his North Carolina debut on Sept. 1, against TCU at Kenan Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET on ESPN.
