It is not a strange trend for prospects to continue checking out other options after pledging their commitments. However, it is an indication that their recruitment has not exactly closed and changes can still occur to their commitment.

In light of this, fans have been sharing their reactions to Fitzpatrick's scheduled visit to Ohio State, especially on X. KR2Ryan wrote:

“So he's not committed lol.”

Templar Buckeye commented:

“Maybe he found out this past week that street racing isn't for him.”

Another fan, Woody, wrote:

“I don't understand committing just to then take visits after.”

Legion of Orange wrote:

“Now that we have revenue sharing, we need to get rid of signing day and just have kids sign financial contracts whenever they commit.”

Similarly, Coach_Drayton wrote:

“Now you see why SC has the no visit policy after commitments. These young guys will have you spinnin your wheels think you got them committed and then they take 3-4 trips after the fact. Gotta stand for something even if it is a risk!”

Justice Fitzpatrick and Minkah Fitzpatrick's Alabama and Kirby Smart connection

Justice Fitzpatrick is a blue-chip prospect in high demand among top college programs. A product of St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, he holds offers from more than 40 D-1 programs. However, he chose Georgia over Michigan, LSU, Michigan State, Alabama, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Oregon, Texas, USC and so on.

Through his brother Minkah Fitzpatrick, who attended Alabama, Justice has a connection to the Crimson Tide. However, a family connection with Georgia's Kirby Smart availed stronger in his recruitment. He told On3:

“I know him well, my family knows him well, and we have a great relationship. I have gotten to know the coaches at Georgia well, I have worked with them at camp, and I feel like Georgia checks off most of my boxes.”

Smart was the defensive coordinator at Alabama when Minkah Fitzpatrick was recruited by the program. Therefore, his connection to the family has a long history, going back over a decade.

Minkah Fitzpatrick spent three seasons at Alabama before getting drafted in the first round of the 2018 NFL draft.
