"Heck yeah!!": CFB world hypes up Kirk Herbstreit's buildup for 2024 season amid Pat McAfee

Kirk Herbstreit is mostly associated with college football, and his increasing number of appearances can only mean that the college football season is growing ever closer. Soon, the speculation will end, and fans will finally get to see if their team can challenge the Michigan Wolverines for the national championship.

On Saturday, Herbstreit pointed out on social media how close we are to Saturdays being football days again.

These fans are also excited for the return of college football, as they will get a chance to see Ben, Kirk Herbstreit's beloved dog.

However, some fans have brought up Herbstreit and the Florida State Seminoles' denial of a spot in the College Football Playoffs last season despite an undefeated season.

Herbstreit was part of that broadcast in December and will be part of the broadcast for the Seminoles' opening game in Dublin, Ireland.

Why Pat McAfee may not return to College Gameday

During his short time that he has been working alongside Kirk Herbstreit on College Gameday, Pat McAfee has quickly become a fan-favorite. But, there are increasing rumors that the former Indianapolis Colts player may not be returning to the show in 2024.

McAfee (who is also involved with Monday Night Raw) has a contract with ESPN that allows for the broadcast of "The Pat McAfee Show" but will need to sign a different contract to be involved with College Gameday.

At the moment, it has not been confirmed whether McAfee will return, which for many will be a loss to the program and for the likes of Kirk Herbstreit, who will be losing a exciting member of the team.
