With his performance as a backup this season, Arch Manning is expected to be one of the top prospects in college football over the next few years. Many are already anticipating to see him take the starting role at Texas next season as Quinn Ewers makes his way to the NFL.

While his NFL future is still years away, a host of fans are already making predictions about Arch Manning’s landing spot in the league. Despite drafting Caleb Williams as the No. 1 pick earlier this year, a Chicago Bears fan on X is hoping his team will eventually draft Manning.

However, a handful of fans quickly reminded the bleak possibility of the same. This is not because the Bears won't be in the position to draft him, but because the Manning family will not agree to that. This is considering what happened with Eli Manning during the 2004 draft.

Here's a look at some of the reactions online:

Other reactions online:

"Why? We don't even know what he is at the college level," a fan wrote.
"What a dumb conversation on both sides. Caleb's him relax. Also, college players don't choose where they go. They play where they are drafted or they sit out for 4 years," another fan wrote.
"Why would you wanna be ass for that long?" a fan asked.

Will Arch Manning be swayed away from an unfavorable landing spot by his family?

Eli Manning was drafted by the San Diego Chargers as the first overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft. However, the Manning family had made it known that the Ole Miss quarterback wouldn't sign for the franchise, leading to an eventual trade with the New York Giants.

After that went smoothly for Eli, there's a strong possibility Arch Manning will follow the same route in ensuring a favorable landing spot when he eventually declares for the draft.

The patriarch of the Manning Dynasty, Archie Griffin, was believed to have stopped his son from signing for the Chargers. However, Eli cleared the air after almost two decades.

"It was my decision having talked with my agent, coaches, [general managers] and owners," Eli Manning said during an interview on the "10 Questions with Kyle Brandt" podcast in 2021.
"Going through the draft process, I was just worried about the Chargers organization at the time. I felt it was the right decision and I had a little pull. I quietly tried to say 'Hey, please don't draft me, it can be our secret,' and they didn't keep the secret part very well."

This pretty much suggests Arch Manning will have the opportunity to make the decision of his own. However, considering the trend of top quarterback picks failing to make waves in the NFL, he will be open to input from his family members who have played in the league and possess the needed experience in that.
