The impact of Evan Stewart on the Oregon Ducks
Evan Stewart has only played one season with the Oregon Ducks, having transferred from the Texas A&M Aggies at the end of the 2023 season.
However, he was able to make a massive impact. During the 2024 season, Stewart recorded 613 receiving yards and scored five touchdowns, as he played an important role in the Ducks' debut Big Ten Championship-winning season.
Stewart was expected to improve on these numbers in 2025, as he would be the leading returning wide receiver. He would have likely been the favored target for new Ducks' quarterback Dante Moore, who will have high expectations placed on him after the season that his predecessor, Dillon Gabriel, had in 2024.
Despite the very slim chances of having Evan Stewart play this season, Oregon still has a strong wide receiver room. Justius Lowe and Gary Bryant Jr. are likely to take Stewart's place, and his absence adds pressure on five-star WR prospect Dakorien Moore in his debut season.
