Shilo Sanders, the Colorado safety, along with his teammates, had a lighthearted interaction with Buffaloes superfan Ms. Peggy, a 100-year-old fan, on Dec. 26. Sanders, who has registered 59 tackles (43 solo), one forced fumble and one pass defended this season, engaged in a humorous exchange with Ms. Peggy before the Alamo Bowl on Saturday. His comment broke the ice, bringing laughter to everyone present.
“They said you raised Ralphie,” he said.

"Greatest Buff of all-time": Shilo Sanders' dad provides a grand introduction for Ms. Peggy
Peggy Coppom is one of the most loyal fans of Colorado. She was flown to San Antonio by Coach Prime in order to attend the Bowl game. Introducing her to the crowd, Deion said:
"The greatest buff of all time. Let's give it up for Miss Peggy"
"We set out earlier in the season, and we had one goal in mind. We weren’t talking about championships. We weren’t talking about how many games we’re going to win. All we focused on was getting Miss Peggy to a bowl," Sanders added.
Peggy Coppom and her twin sister, Betty Hoover, were regular attendees at Colorado games, becoming well-known figures among fans and athletes. They attended numerous CU sporting events together and were honored with a tree dedication ceremony at CU Boulder. Unfortunately, Peggy lost her sister on Aug. 5, 2020, at the age of 95.
In Nov. 2024, Peggy celebrated her 100th birthday. To commemorate this milestone, CU Athletics launched a "Peggy100" apparel line.
