Vince Marrow has been a part of the Kentucky Wildcats coaching staff since 2013. He was the assistant coach alongside Mark Stoops for over a decade. However, the Louisville Cardinals have managed to recruit Marrow as the program's new general manager.
But how much did the new Louisville GM make during his stint with the Kentucky Wildcats?

Vince Marrow salary: How much did he make with Kentucky?
In September 2024, Vince Marrow signed a new contract extension with the Wildcats. This latest deal had Marrow stay with the program through the 2026 season. Per the University of Kentucky's Legal Counsel, the former Kentucky assistant coach was set to earn $1.3 million per year.
Marrow's buyout increased from $150,000 to $200,000 per the number of years remaining in his contract if he decided to join another program. After signing the extension, Marrow expressed his gratitude and excitement at continuing to be a part of the Kentucky Wildcats.
"I'm grateful for the contract extension and the opportunity to keep contributing toward building this football program," Marrow wrote in a tweet on X. "Thank you to the administration, @UKYpres @UKMitchBarnhart @Marcus_D_Hill Ray Oliver, and the Big Blue Nation. A special thanks to @UKCoachStoops for 12 incredible years together, and for being the best coach in college football to work for. GO BIG BLUE!"
During the 2024 season, Marrow and Stoops could only muster a 4-8 record. It was also the first time they became bowl-ineligible since 2015.
Vince Marrow has an old relationship with Louisville head coach Jeff Brohm
Jeff Brohm took over as the head coach of the Louisville Cardinals in 2023. While it is not official as to why Marrow decided to leave the Wildcats, some suggest that it is because of his bond with the Louisville coach.
Marrow and Brohm have known each other since their XFL days. Both played for the Orlando Rage in 2001. Thus, this bond might have influenced the former Kentucky assistant coach in his decision to change jobs despite earning $1.3 million annually.
Vince Marrow was also critical in Kentucky's recruiting efforts. Thus, with his departure, Mark Stoops finds himself in an unfavorable position to continue bringing in talent to the program.
