The 2024 NFL Draft is full of obvious picks from top schools. But sometimes, the stories are a bit more complicated. Here are five underdogs to watch for on day three of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Top 5 underdogs to watch out for on Day 3 of 2024 NFL Draft

1. Ray Davis, Kentucky
A ward of the state of California at age eight, Davis overcame a difficult childhood to rush for 1,000 yards at three different schools. Kentucky was last and his 1,129 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2023 (and seven receiving TDs) made him a standout.
Davis is just 5-foot-8, but he's overcome long odds always. He'll welcome the chance to do it again in the NFL.
2. Khristian Boyd, Northern Iowa
Boyd was committed to Kansas out of high school, but when a coaching change occurred, he was brought into FCS football.
Boyd blossomed at Northern Iowa and at 6-foot-2 and 329 pounds, he's got an NFL physique. Boyd managed 149 tackles and 22.5 tackles. The player who no FBS team wanted is now a run-stuffing NFL Draft prospect.
3. Dylan Laube, New Hampshire
Laube was a no-star recruit who got more attention for lacrosse than for college football. In a six-year career at New Hampshire, Laube became a star. He rushed for 2,773 yards and 29 touchdowns. He also caught 171 passes for 1,791 yards and 14 more scores.
He's not quite 5-foot-10 but runs a 4.54-second 40-yard dash. His receiving skills make him an NFL prospect.
4. Myles Harden, South Dakota
Also a no-star recruit, Harden chose South Dakota and became a four-year starter at the FCS level. Despite becoming a freshman All-American, Harden missed significant portions of two seasons due to season-ending injuries.
He persevered and was named a second-team All-American in 2023, with 58 tackles and seven passes broken up. Despite being a third-round pick, his 4.5-second 40-yard sprint time makes up for a good steal.
5. Isaiah Davis, South Dakota State
Coming from Joplin, Missouri, Davis was also a no-star recruit. He drew attention only from a few Division II schools until South Dakota State got involved. He paid them back with 4,548 rushing yards and 50 touchdowns. Davis topped 3,000 yards between his junior and senior seasons.
He's 6 feet tall and runs sub-4.6-second 40-yard dashes. He'll start on special teams, but he could be an NFL runner.
