X-Men '97 episode 5, titled Remember It, was released on April 10, 2024. The 34-minute-long episode was written by Beau DeMayo and directed by Emi Yonemura. Some of the people featured in the episode were Wolverine, Cyclops, Madelyne, Jean, Genosha, Magneto, Rogue, Gambit, Nightcrawler, and Cable.

Fans of the show witnessed the demise of several characters in X-Men '97 episode 5. While some of these deaths occurred on screen, others happened behind it. The deaths were not only significant in the context of the show but also influenced a majority of the population who tuned in to watch the episode and were not anticipating such a drastic turn of events.

1) Goblin Queen aka Madelyne Pryor

Starting the list is Madelyne Pryor, who is also popularly known as the Goblin Queen.

Following an attack on the mutant nation of Genosha by a group of Master Mold Wild Sentinels, mutants started perishing one by one. One of the first people to get blown into nothingness owing to a huge explosion was Madelyne Pryor, who was recently revealed to be a clone of Jean Grey.


2) Banshee aka Sean Cassidy

Besides Madelyne Pryor, one of the first people to be blown away into oblivion was Banshee who also goes by another name, Sean Cassidy. During the attack by the powerful Sentinels Banshee lost his life and was seen flying away.


3) Gambit

The award for the most heroic death in X-Men '97 episode 5 goes to Gambit. In a moment of self-sacrifice and love for his people, Gambit offered himself as a casualty to save the others and get rid of the Sentinels.

When Gambit was in the clutches of the Sentinel group that had attacked the group of mutants he devised a plan. To execute his plan, Gambit, after getting caught by the Sentinel robot, supercharged himself and blew himself up. This resulted in the takedown of the majority of the Sentinel group but of course, Gambit lost his life to the act as well.


4) Magneto

Besides Gambit, another character of prominence who lost his life in X-Men '97 episode 5 was Magento. During an attack by the Sentinels, Magneto in an attempt to protect himself and the others creates a force field around him. However, the power of the attack is too much and Magento cannot withstand it. The blast engulfs him and he gets shattered into pieces.


5) Leech and the Morlocks

Leech and the Morlocks were also among the casualties of the war waged by the Sentinels. The sight was one of the most painstaking ones in X-Men '97 episode 5 because Magneto shared a special relationship with Leech and the Morlocks and vouched to protect them. However, they too lost their lives to the Sentinel attack.


6) Squid Boy aka Sammy Paré

Another name added to the list of the deceased in season 5 of X-Men '97 is Squid Boy who also goes by the name Sammy Paré. He was the last person to leave for his heavenly abode in the episode. He may not be a crucial character for the show's plot, but his demise left the fans sad.

Callisto was another person to lose her life to the attack by the Sentinels. After putting on a brave fight, the audience caught a glimpse of Callisto on a stretcher, injured and lifeless.


8) Marrow aka Sarah Rushman

9) Sebastian Shaw

Moira MacTaggert's death in X-Men '97 episode 5 happened off-screen. The character was seen lying on a bed with her eyes closed. The show's frontrunner Beau DeMayo further confirmed the character's death via X, formerly known as Twitter. He had commented in one of the posts that asked if Moira was dead to which he answered positively.
