AMC Networks’ Interview with the Vampire has a huge viewer base despite the series effectively representing a reboot of a story that has seen multiple TV and movie iterations of itself. The second season of the series, set to premiere on May 12, recently saw the release of its first teaser trailer.

It dealt with the contents of the upcoming iteration, which promises the continuation of the plot thus far. Interview with the Vampire will see the continuation of the harrowing story of Louis de Pointe du Lac, played by Jacob Anderson.

The story itself revolves around the recounting of his past life in an interview with experienced journalist journalist Daniel Molloy. Season 1 saw the vampire recount a range of details from his past life as the lover of Lestat de Lioncourt, a character portrayed by Sam Reid.

The series itself is based on Anne Rice’s novel Interview with the Vampire and has received acclaim due to the way it has portrayed homosexual relations between the two main characters. Season 2, which was announced even before the premiere of Season 1 in October 2022, will also see the release of 8 episodes.

Here, we look at everything we know about the series, especially with respect to the recently released teaser.

The teaser in itself offered a glimpse into the continuation of the interview with Daniel Molloy. The teaser showcased Louis de Pointe du Lac delving into the various ‘Laws of being a vampire,’ as he talked about the various rules that even vampires had to abide by.

This included the fact that every cavern of vampires must have a leader, in addition to the fact that vampires were simply not allowed to turn children. Finally, Louis talked about the great law that every vampire must abide by, which effectively means that no vampire in itself is allowed to destroy another of their own kind.

The teaser also hinted at a vampire justice system, with one vampire judge seemingly giving its verdict on a case presented before the court. This means that while vampires in themselves may live a lawless life governed by their desires, they also must adhere to a moral and legal code that they cannot move past.

Daniel Molloy, the famous journalist, played by Eric Bogosian, can be seen intrigued with the various conditions that vampires must adhere to, as the teaser concluded by giving fans their first glimpse of a range of vampire characters that have not yet been introduced.

Based on Anne Rice’s novel, Interview with the Vampire will be released on May 12. It is set in the Immortal Universe created by Anne Rice for her vampire-centric stories, which means that the creators have a range of characters from the original source material to work with. However, while Season 1 saw Louis de Pointe talk about his own personal life with respect to his maker/lover, and his struggles as a black vampire, Season 2 seemingly delves into the larger picture.

The official synopsis of Interview with the Vampire promises that things will continue where Season 1 left them, as Louis conspires with fellow vampire Claudia to murder Lestat de Lioncourt. Season 2 undoubtedly deals with his own trial in in vampires’ court, which appears to have happened after he went on the run for a number of years.

Regardless, with a range of plotlines to be delved into, fans will already be looking forward to the Season 2 premiere of Interview with the Vampire.
