Wiccan is finally set to make his big appearance in Agatha All Along as actor Joe Locke will be stepping into the shoes of Billy Kaplan. While the actor plays the role of a "Teen" in the show, the marketing heavily alludes that Locke is actually Kaplan in the series and is currently under a spell to reveal his true identity.

While Wiccan/Billy Kaplan has appeared once before in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this will be the first time it looks like he might be embracing his superhero persona. In previous appearances, he was portrayed as a child by Julian Hilliard in WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

With the character making an appearance in Agatha All Along, this article takes a closer look at his comic book storyline and origins and explores his connection to Wanda Maximoff.

Wiccan's comic book storyline explored

Wiccan first appeared as Asgardian in Young Avengers #1 in February 2005. He later made his debut as Wiccan in Young Avengers #6 in August 2005. He was created by Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung, and he is the son of Wanda Maximoff and the Vision.

During her marriage to the Vision, Wanda Maximoff gave birth to twin boys by altering reality and claiming two lost souls. However, a demon named Mephisto reclaimed those souls. Due to being transfigured by Wanda Maximoff's magic, the demon was destroyed. This eventually led to Billy's soul being reborn in the Kaplan family, who were Reform Jews.

Billy's powers manifested at a very young age. As a child, he was bullied at school for his s*xuality. However, he received words of encouragement from the Scarlet Witch, his favorite Avenger, and could stand up to his bully, John Kesler. However, Billy's electrokinetic powers manifested and resulted in him almost killing John.

He formed a romantic relationship with Teddy Altman and initially went by the superhero name Asgardian, inspired by Thor. Later, he changed his name to Wiccan at the suggestion of Cassie Lang and Kate Bishop. He has also been a significant member of the Young Avengers.

Wiccan's twin brother Tommy Shepher, also possesses powers of Super Speed, and he usually goes by the codename Speed. However, given how Wiccan is being introduced in the MCU through Agatha All Along, fans can expect to see a different kind of origin in the show.
