South Africa v England - Second Test: Day Four
Chris Morris

The Titans are one of the best domestic sides in South Africa at the moment due to the presence of extremely gifted cricketers in their squad. In addition to that, a large number of stars in the national team also represent them in the various domestic competitions.

The team was established back in 2004 and they currently participate in the Sunfoil Series, which is South Africa's first-class tournament, the Ram Slam T20 challenge and the one-day competition known as the Momentum One Day Cup.

The Titans, over the years, have been one of the best teams in the South African domestic circuit. Here is a look at 10 of the best players in their squad.

#10 Chris Morris

South Africa's star all-rounder joined the Titans back in 2015 after a hugely successful stint with the Highveld Lions and has proven to be an excellent addition to his new team. In his very first season, the Titans went on to win the Sunfoil Series and it is important to note that he had been acquired by the Titans after he had helped the Highveld Lions in winning the domestic competition after a gap of a decade and a half.

Morris was also a vital member of the side that went on to win the Ram Slam T20 challenge in 2016, beating the Dolphins by 7 wickets in the final.

#9 Farhaan Behardien

England v South Africa - 2nd NatWest T20 International
Farhaan Behardien

South African all-rounder Farhaan Behardien has been with the Titans since 2007 and has been one of the important members of the squad for the quite a few seasons now. He plays in all formats of the game for the Titans and his domestic performances for the side helped him in forcing his way into the South African side back in 2012.

Since then, he has been more or less a fixture in the limited overs side and adds much needed lower-middle order muscle to the batting line up. In his first-class career so har, Behardien has 8 hundreds and 39 half-centuries in a total of 98 games, at an average of 40.84.

He will be an integral member of the Titans during the 2017-18 season as well.

#8 Heino Kuhn

England v South Africa - 4th Investec Test: Day Two
Heino Kuhn

Heino Kuhn has been one of the prolific run scorers in the South African domestic circuit for some years now and has been one of the pillars of the Titans' batting line up throughout his career. In Titans' successful 2015-16 campaign in the Sunfoil Series, Kuhn topped the run charts with a total of 1126 runs at an average of 62.55 with 4 centuries and was named the player of the season.

Although he had debuted for South Africa back in 2009, he got a recall to the side for the Test series against England earlier this year. Though Kuhn could no replicate his exploits on the international stage, he remains a key member of the Titans team.

#7 Morne Morkel

South Africa v England - First Test: Day Three
Morne Morkel

South Africa's towering speedster Morne Morkel has been a part of the Titan's side since the 2004-05 season and it was due to his excellent performances for the domestic side that helped him with his eventual selection to the national side. Over the years, whenever he has been able to play for the Titans, Morkel has been one of their most important bowlers and considering the fact that he has been a regular member of the national side, there is no doubt that he is one of the top players in their squad.

Morkel has played 103 first-class games so far in his career and has picked up 361 wickets at an impressive average of 27.50. Now that he is trying to establish himself in the South African side once again, he might play more often for the Titans in the near future.

#6 Quinton de Kock

3rd Momentum ODI: South Africa v India
Quinton de Kock

Quinton de Kock joined the Titans in only 2015 but considering his stature in world cricket at the moment, there is no doubt that he is among the best players in the squad at the moment. Ever since he joined the Titans, he has been one of their most influential players and was instrumental in helping them win the Ramslam T20 Challenge back in 2016.

De Kock scored consistently throughout the tournament and was one the best players in the side in the lead up to the final. He will be one of their most important players in the coming seasons.

#5 Tabraiz Shamsi

Nottinghamshire Outlaws vs Northamptonshire Steelbacks - NatWest T20 Blast
Tabraiz Shamsi

Leg-spinner Tabraiz Shamsi made his debut for the national team last year on the back of excellent performances in domestic cricket for the Titans and T20 leagues in different parts of the world. Shamsi's unpredictable leg spin bowling and varieties have made him a difficult bowler to negotiate in South African domestic cricket and he has has been one of the Titans' top performers ever since he joined them in 2014.

When the Titans won the Sunfoil Series in the 2015-16 season, Shamsi emerged as the team's highest wicket-taker with 41 wickets to his name and ended at number three in the wicket-taking charts. It is expected that he will continue to do the business for the Titans in the upcoming season.

#4 Faf du Plessis

South Africa v England - Second Test: Day Three
Faf du Plessis

The South African captain Faf du Plessis has been associated with the Titans since 2005 and despite having played for a considerable period of time in county cricket in the past decade, he remains one of the key players in the team. Due to his schedule for the national team, he might not be able to play for the side in the various competitions all through the season, but when he is available, the Titans can boast of having one of the world's top batsmen in their side.

That said, Du Plessis tries to make himself available whenever possible and ahead of the series against Bangladesh, he played a game against the Dolphins. He hit a sublime 96 to help Titans score 451 in the first innings of a drawn game.

#3 Aiden Markram

South Africa v Bangladesh - Day 1
Aiden Markram

Many believe that Aiden Markram is the future of South African batting and for good reason, since the Titans player has been a prodigiously talented batsman right from the time he led the U-19 team to the trophy in the World Cup three years ago. After playing for the Northern, he joined the Titans last year and immediately became one of their best batsmen.

In his 38 games of first-class career, Markram has already scored 7 centuries and 15 half-centuries and has recorded an average of over 60. However, the fact that he had also had a brilliant start to his Test career, he might not be available for the Titans at some points of the season.

In spite of that, he will definitely be a huge asset to the side whenever available.

#2 Dean Elgar

South Africa v England - First Test: Day Two
Dean Elgar

South Africa's opening batsman Dean Elgar has quietly become one of the top opening batsmen in the world in Test cricket and as far as domestic cricket is concerned, he is, without a doubt, among the best batsmen in the Titans squad. Considering the fact that Elgar is usually not a part of the limited overs set up, he can devote far more time to the Titans in their domestic aspirations.

Elgar will against be a vital member of their team, whenever available if they are to win the first-class championship this season. Only this month, he scored a sublime 237 not out against the Dolphins in a drawn game and much more could be in store.

#1 AB de Villiers

New Zealand v South Africa: Semi Final - 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup
AB de Villiers

He is among the best batsmen in the world and certainly one of the best that South Africa has ever produced, which is why it is not really a contest when it comes to identifying the best cricketer in the Titans roster. He started his career in first-class cricket with the Northerns and then became a member of the Titans in 2004.

Although he does not play as often as the Titans would like, he is still the best player that any South African domestic team would want to have on their side. De Villiers has scored 24 centuries in 132 first-class games so far and averages a healthy 49.80.
