This ground holds an emotional significance in Indian cricket, for it was here in October 1994 that Kapil Dev played his last match for the country.

However, it is a venue where the Men In Blue as a team have not had good memories.

Out of the eight ODI matches that they have played here, the team has won just two, losing the other six.

The first match featuring India was played on this venue against the West Indies in 1988, one which the hosts lost by 4 wickets and the last encounter at the venue happened in 2006 when India beat England on the back of heroics from Suresh Raina.
