#2 - Dean Elgar (South Africa)

Dean Elgar, just like Pujara is a match-winner in red ball cricket but in white ball cricket, he is not very effective. He last played a one-day match in Zimbabwe at the Mangaung Oval in 2018 and it's highly unlikely that South Africa would try him any time soon.

Another reason which hampers Elgar's chances of making it to the World Cup is his age. He will turn 32 in the coming June and it'd be really hard for him to stay in the team till 2023, by the time he would be 36.

#3 - Murali Vijay (India)

Unlike Cheteshwar Pujara and Dean Elgar, Murali Vijay is not only totally out of the one-day team but is finding it hard to make stay in the Test team as well.

Vijay last played for India in white ball cricket in 2015, against Zimbabwe. He became one of the key players for India when it came to Test cricket, but eventually lost his position due to his inconsistency.

Now, at this point of time, it seems that Vijay is fighting hard to make it to the Indian Test team. It's unlikely that the Indian team will shuffle their players anymore as the World Cup is approaching, and it is almost certain that Vijay is no more in the scheme of the things for the ODI team.
