Pakistan v India - First Test Match, Day 1
Sehwag scored 309 to defeat Pakistan at Multan

India visited Pakistan for a three-Test series in 2004. In the first Test at Multan, Rahul Dravid won the toss and chose to bat first. Sehwag's quick-fire 309 off 375 helped India post a huge total of 675 on the board before declaring. He hit 39 fours and six sixes to get to his first triple-century.

Pakistan could only score 407 in their first innings, giving the visitors a first-innings lead of 268. India enforced the follow-on and in their second-innings, Pakistan were bundled out for just 216. Anil Kumble ripped through the batting lineup, picking up six wickets for just 72 runs along with ten maidens.

This helped India get to 1-0 early in the series. Sehwag was adjudged the Man of the Match and India went on to win the series, 2-1. The Delhi opener also took home the Man of the Series trophy.
