The 4th edition of Red Bull Campus Cricket set to commence
64 colleges from 16 cities across India will battle it out for the title of best college cricket team.
Mumbai, 23 January, 2015: The wait is finally over for India’s young and budding cricketers, as Red Bull Campus Cricket comes back this February. A battle that only gets fiercer with each passing year, Red Bull Campus Cricket returns in search of the best college teams from across India. The championship starts with the city-wise qualifiers followed by the regional round, finally leading to the national finals.
This year, the India leg of the world championship kick starts its city qualifiers in Lucknow, followed by the West Zone cities of Ahmedabad, Baroda, Pune and Mumbai. It then moves up North to Delhi, Chandigarh, Jaipur, and Jalandhar, followed by Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Cochin in the South. The regional round eventually concludes in Central India regions of Indore, Kolkata and Ranchi.
The four best colleges from each of the cities will battle it out to represent their city in the regional finals. Two of the top performing teams from each zone will get to travel to the National Finals. These eight teams will play the single round-robin format followed by the semi-finals and finals. The national champions from India then compete with teams from the other 7 countries (South Africa, Australia, England, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, UAE, and Pakistan) in the Red Bull Campus Cricket World Series Championship 2015 in the second half of the year.
