Currently an Indian politician, Mohammad Azharuddin is one of the most controversial retired Indian cricketer. Renowned for his prolific batting style, Azharuddin's name shines on the list of most successful Indian captains. Back in 1987, Azhar got married for the first time to a 16-year-old Hyderabad based girl named Naureen. Known for her simplicity, Naureen avoided media publicity. Azhar had two sons with Naureen, Mohammad Asaduddin and Mohammad Ayazuddin. But the marriage lasted only 9 years.

Azhar's attention started shifting towards Sangeeta Bijlani (then model and actress). In 1996, due to his newly developed relationship, Azharuddin divorced Naureen and married Sangeeta. This marriage too ended in a divorce in 2010 due to his alleged affairs which were declined by the player.
