Cricket today is almost entirely a batsman's game. Flat pitches, small boundaries and bigger bats have tilted the game heavily in favor of the batsmen. The bowlers have got nowhere to hide and, the advent of T20s, where the batsmen go after them from the first ball itself have made it even more difficult.

The T20 format has brought about a revolution where the bowlers are more than grateful to keep the run rate down, rather than to take wickets. India made a wonderful foray into the shortest format of the game, winning the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007.

Over the years India is blessed to have got some big hitters in their line up who are capable of clearing any boundary in the world. So, who are the Indian players with the most number of sixes in T20s? Let us have a look:

#5 Virat Kohli (41)

ICC World Twenty20 India 2016: Semi-Final: West Indies v India
Virat Kohli is a modern day run machine

The skipper of the U19 winning squad of 2008, Virat Kohli has come a long way and, is arguably the best batsman in world cricket today. Passionate, hardworking and extremely talented Virat Kohli, has emerged as the next big superstar of Indian cricket. He is the only batsman in world cricket today with a batting average above 49 in all the three formats of the game.

As a batsman, he is technically astute and can play any shot in the book. He is extremely hot-headed and he channelizes all his energy in his batting. A terrific runner between the wickets, Kohli is always on the lookout for runs - consistently converting ones into twos and twos into threes if boundaries are not available.

Even in T20s Kohli rarely alters his game. Unlike some of his fellow cricketers, he relies more on timing and placement rather than brute force. He made his T20I debut for India in 2010 and since then he has been a cornerstone of India's batting.

In 57 matches so far he has hit 41 sixes so far. That tally is likely to increase rapidly the next time he plays in any T20 International for India.

#4 Mahendra Singh Dhoni (46 sixes)

India v South Africa - ICC Twenty20 World Cup Warm Up
Mahendra Singh Dhoni is one of the best ever finishers in the history of cricket

Barring Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni is arguably the most popular and definitely the most scrutinized cricketer from India. Swashbuckling calm and composed, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, is one the best finishers the game has ever seen. He started his career as a dasher who could come in and start hitting from the first ball, but as time passed, he has changed his game to suit the demands of modern day cricket.

An unorthodox technique, a sharp cricket brain, and supreme belief in his abilities have made Dhoni the batsman he is. His strong wrists are enough to clear any boundary rope in the world, as bowlers have found out over the years.

He has played a total of 89 T20 Internationals so far and has cleared the boundary 46 times in those matches.

#3 Suresh Raina (54 sixes)

India v South Africa - ICC Twenty20 World Cup Warm Up
Suresh Raina is one of the cleanest hitters in the Indian team

A complete modern age cricketer Suresh Raina remained a very important part of India's middle order line-up for a number of years in the last decade. He burst onto the scene as a 19-year-old during the Greg Chappell and, impressed one and all with his performances.

With his ability to strike the ball cleanly, along with his wide range of shots, he played some very vital cameos for India at the end of an innings. His innings of 34 not out against Australia and, 36 not out against Pakistan, in the quarter-final and the semi-final of the World Cup 2011 were two extremely crucial knocks in the context of the World Cup. Fearless and adventurous he can start playing the big shots from the first ball - a trait that separates from the others who need at least an over or two to settle down.

His T20 record is mightily impressive as he has racked up 1499 runs in 72 matches and has cleared the fence on 54 occasions in those matches.

#2 Yuvraj Singh (74 sixes)

One of the cleanest hitters of the cricket ball Yuvraj Singh made his debut for India in the 2000 Champions trophy and immediately stamped his authority with a magnificent innings of 84 runs, at better than a run-a-ball against a formidable Australian team. He was a linchpin of India's middle order in limited overs international over the last decade, with him and Dhoni leading India to some memorable victories during that period.

When in full flow, there is hardly any player who looks so graceful when batting. Relying mostly on timing he made six hitting looks ridiculously simple clearing even the biggest of grounds with absolute ease.

He has represented India in 58 T20 Internationals so far, hitting a massive 74 sixes in the process. His best performance in T20Is remains the 2007 T20 World Cup, where he hit Stuart Broad for six sixes in an over and followed it up with a majestic 30 ball 70 against Australia in the semi-final.

#1 Rohit Sharma (75 sixes)

ICC World Twenty20 India 2016: Semi-Final: West Indies v India
The Hitman occupies the number 1 position on this list

Rohit Sharma is one of the most talented and graceful players in world cricket today. He made his debut for India in the 2007 T20 World Cup against South Africa. However, he failed to cement his place in the team, as he was often criticized for being lazy and throwing away his wicket too easily. The turnaround came in the 2013 Champions Trophy when Dhoni promoted him up the order to open the batting with Shikhar Dhawan.

In the last 5 years, Rohit Sharma has emerged as one of the leading players in the shorter formats of the game. Relying mostly on hand-eye coordination, touch and timing, he makes six hitting look incredibly easy. When he is set and in full flow, no boundary in the world is big enough for 'The Hitman.'

He has played 78 T20 Internationals for India so far and he has cleared the fence 75 times in those matches to occupy the first position in this list.
