5 best takeaways for Bangladesh after the first Australia Test

Bangladesh v England - First Test: Day Three
It is not without reason Shakib al Hasan is considered one of the world's best all-rounders

#4 Tamim's consistency at top of the order

Bangladesh v England - First Test: Day Two
Tamim Iqbal remains Bangladesh's linchpin in the batting department

Tamim Iqbal was the highest scorer for Bangladesh in this Test match. The southpaw scored 71 and 78 in both the innings respectively.

He is the only batsman to have scored fifties in both the innings of this low scoring Test match. Bringing all his experience into play, he managed to tackle the spinners quite effectively on a spin-friendly pitch.

Tamim skillfully faced the likes of Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins, Nathon Lyon and Ashton Agar. The left handed opener was involved in a match winning partnership of 155 runs with Shakib in the 1st innings.

Also, much to the delight of the crowd, he scored 3 maximums in the same innings. Tamim will have to once again guide the Bangladesh batting line up when they will up against a fired up Australian side in the second Test.
