The skipper Prithvi Shaw got off to a good start in almost every match, and scored 261 runs in the tournament at a healthy average of 65.25 which included 2 half centuries.
Manjot Kalra too had an impressive tournament and scored 252 runs at an average of 84. His century in the finals against Australia was a special innings and he served as a perfect opening partner for Shaw.
Shubman Gill is surely a player to watch out for in the future. The young batsman averaged 124 in the tournament and his impressive century against Pakistan in the semi-finals led India to a respectable total. Gill for his consistent performances with the bat in the tournament was awarded the Man of the Series award.
The trio of Shaw, Kalra and Gill have had a very impressive start to their cricketing careers and a couple of good seasons at the domestic level will ensure their entry in the Indian team in the near future.
