Being active on social media is something that is expected from cricketers these days. While some of them are constantly in touch with their fans, there are others who drop by every now and then. Twitter is one of the platforms which is primarily used by cricket stars to stay connected with their fan base.

Among Indian cricketers who are on the extremely popular social website, former batsman Virender Sehwag has managed to carve his own niche. Apart from sharing some interesting tweets from others, Sehwag often comes up with some great tweets of his own.

Be it a fellow cricketer's birthday or an achievement by a sporting hero, the great Indian batsman has something to say about everything. And a few of his tweets are so funny that one cannot help but salute his sense of humour.

Here are 8 hilarious tweets by Virender Sehwag in recent times:

8. On KKR bowlers during 2016 IPL

Although Virender Sehwag is currently in a mentor's role for Kings XI Punjab in the IPL, it certainly does not keep him from showing interest in matches of other teams. Apart from following the IPL, Sehwag has also ensured that he expresses his opinion on the matches in the form of tweets.

After Kolkata Knight Riders lost a match against eventual champions Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2016 IPL, the champion batsman decided to have a bit of fun. He posted a tweet which said, "KKR bowling attack Holder and Morne" and was followed by a conjoined image of a bulb holder and a peacock.

Virender Sehwag seldom misses out on wishing his fellow cricketers and other sports personalities on their birthdays. The iconic opener ensures on most occasions that he provides a touch of humour, especially when he is wishing cricketers he has played with.

Kevin Pietersen was one of Sehwag's team-mates during his time at Delhi Daredevils. So when his birthday came around this year, the ace Indian batsman wished him by revealing what he thought about the Englishman in those days.

"A very happy birthday @KP24. When we used to play for Delhi,I always thought, This KP will send the ball to CP," wrote Sehwag. By CP, the 2-time triple centurion was referring to the Connaught Place area in Delhi, a fact clarified by one of the fans responding to the tweet.
