Banglachokers made Kenyans proud-A tame cricket by Bangladesh

In what was been talked as a match of equals between Ban-WI, at the end it turned out to be the most lop-sided contest of the world cup. The bangladeshis were made to bite the dust in their own backyard by ruthless windies bowlers. This reminds of the yesteryear windies team who has such a chin music blowers (read as “bowlers”) that no one felt safe even with helmet on. The windies team made all their critics not only silent but made them think before making them compare with the minnows like bangladesh on basis of their cricketing form.Certainly after seeing this match Bangladesh didn’t even look like a shadow of the west indies team.No one would ever have thought that this match will get over in the time span of the first inning itself. A score as low as 58 which whole bangladeshi batsmen could muster on their own familiar pitch and also on the pitch where they did make indian bolwers weat hard and reached almost 300.

Early afternoon when bangladesh won toss and elected to bat there was such a roar in stadium as if they have erupted in joy of their victory. Then that was the only last roar in whole match as the supporters saw one-by-one the wickets tumbling and runs are few and far.some odd boundaries did come but it was just like putting a grain in a camel’s mouth. The windies bowling spearhead the hattrick taker Kemar roach led the inroads into the batting side and then the Bangladeshis never recovered from their poor start. Batsmen didn’t seem to have any clue about the fast and swing bowling from sammy and Roach,with spin from the tall gigantic Suleiman benn spinning their head round and picking their wickets every now and then.

Even the west indies team would not have thought this disaster on their opponent when they had met in meeting before match. The dreams of crore fans of bangla tigers which they proudly call their team for seeing their team qualifying into next round hs totally been shattered and their looks no way out of this situation unless they pile such a misery on their next opponents who are even bigger than the west indies- The Sa and Eng.Nothing went right since their batting began and they lost wickets at every short span of intervals.It took only 3 bowlers for West indies to wipe out whole team under 20 overs. It was as if bangladeshis had come with T20 in their mind and no one was looking to stay there and play with some patience. They can’t blame the pitch,condition anything for that matter but themselves for such a pathetic display of cricket on such a huge ocassion like wold cup in their own ground. The only way from here is up, that they can look to salvage some pride by going into their coming matches looking to play full overs and not repeating such 2 figure scorecards. The bowlers really didn’t have naything to bowl at and can’t be put under any kind of scanner as yet because they were the ones to save their team from possible humiliation under the hands of cricketing rookies. The Ireland when they threatened to take the game away from the Bangladeshis. Maybe it can be judged from their way of stroke playing that they took windies for granted in this match and were way too casual in their approach.

This display was the least demanded from their supporters and definitely a nightmare for the team as well as the bangladeshi supporters.they must now forget it and look forward for doing something special in their next matches ,though it is highly unlikely scenario for them to come out from this ruins which they heaped on themselves and play outstanding cricket.It makes it more difficult seeing that their next two opponents out of three are the heavy-weights of the cricket.All they need is the full backing and pray of their million cricket lovers,rest will depend on their fate on this world cup which at this moment doesn’t promises much. Now only thing comes for the Bangladesh team is “God save this team”.But what is heartening to see here is that losing captain Shakib al hasan is that he has insisted on playing better cricket and showing faith in his teams capablity to play out of thier skins in upcoming matches to give thier millinos of angry supporters something to cheer about.The bangladeshi cpatian and team must know that performing at big stages like this matters most and with such huge fan-following they must come out firing all cylinders in thier next matches.the whole world expects better performance from them and bangladesh are capable of doing big things on cricket field,so they have their task cut-out for the remaining matches.
