BREAKING NEWS: India announce squad for England Tests

The BCCI today announced the squad for the Indian Cricket Team for the first two Test matches against England in India.

The first match takes place in Ahmedabad from the 8th to the 11th of November, while the second is in Mumbai and is from the 23rd to the 27th of November.

Yuvraj Singh, who had a commendable outing in the recently concluded Twenty20 World Cup after recovering from cancer, is in the squad, as is batting legend Sachin Tendulkar.

MS Dhoni will continue to captain the side, which will look to stick with the opening pair combination of Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir, but might opt to switch things around with both Murali Vijay and Virat Kohli capable of opening India’s innings.

The team also contains three specialist spinners in Ravichandran Ashwin, Pragyan Ojha and veteran Harbhajan Singh. The three pacemen in the side are Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma and the long-serving Zaheer Khan.

The playing XI is yet to be announced.
