Chris Gayle slams 16th T20 Hundred; scores 105 off 57 balls vs Red Steel in CPL 2015

Almost every time Chris Gayle walks out to bat in a T20 game, something seems to happen. Not too long ago Gayle hit the headlines for butchering a 36-ball 90 in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League 2015 and here is again, making news.

This time he has gone a step ahead by scoring a century - Gayle's 16th hundred in T20 cricket; the most by any player. This was also the first hundred in CPL 2015. Playing in front of his home crowd at the Sabina Park in Jamaica against the Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel, Gayle made 105 off just 57 balls on Thursday to lead his side to big victory in the Caribbean Premier League 2015.

Gayle's hundred propelled the Jamaica Tallawahs to an impressive total of 180 in 20 overs. In reply, the bowlers complimented the good work done by the batsmen and restricted the Red Steel to just 130, giving the Tallawahs a massive victory by 50 runs.

With this win, the Tallawahs have moved to the 2nd place in the points table, tied on 8 points with table toppers, the Barbados Tridents. Gayle brought up his 16th T20 hundred in 54 balls and his innings included 6 fours and 9 monster sixes at a strike rate of 184. This was also Gayle's first T20 hundred at Jamaica, in front of his home crowd.

With this innings, Gayle became the highest run scorer in CPL 2015 with 348 runs in 6 innings at a staggering average of 116! He also has 3 fifties prior to this in the 2015 CPL. He is also ahead in the maximum sixes hit by a player in CPL 2015 with 25 humongous hits over the boundary.

Gayle picked up his 3rd man-of-the-match award this CPL and he said, "The wicket was a good one to bat on, and I simply tried to make use of it." Well, if this man gets a few more of such good wickets to bat on, the bowlers are surely in the firing line of being obliterated and the fans in for tremendous entertainment!!
