CK Nayudu cricket: Karnataka A on the mat

Bangalore - Seamer Jaskaran Singh grabbed four for 29 to leave Karnataka A on 120 for five in reply to Punjab A’s first innings score of 493 at stumps on the second day of the C.K. Nayudu Trophy cricket match here on Sunday.

Opener Mayank Ararwal’s fighting 64 not out (106b, 9×4, 1×6) was the only cheer for Karnataka whose batsmen succumbed to the crafty Jaskaran while the other new ball bowler Deepak Bansal took 1 for 47 in his 10 overs.

Earlier, Punjab, resuming at their overnight score of 310 for three, carried on the good work to post a big total as Ravi Inder Singh went on to make 152 (262b, 19×4, 3×6) while Preet Kamal Singh (46) and Jaskaran Singh (41) chipped in usefully.

For Karnataka, seamers Aditya (3 for 61) and David Mathias (4 for 110) were the main wicket?takers while left?arm spinner Akbar Kazi picked up two for 124.
