The Jamaica Tallawahs are at the top of the table after beating the Trinbago Knight Riders by 19 runs in their previous match of the CPL 2016. Rovman Powell and Andre Russell lifted the Tallawahs to a respectable total of 158 in 20 overs. Kevon Cooper bowled beautifully for the Knight Riders, conceding 22 runs while picking 3 wickets in his 4 overs.
In reply, the Knight Riders could manage only 139 in their 20 overs for the loss of 9 wickets, giving the Tallawahs a 19-run victory.
The Barbados Tridents were also victorious in their previous match against the St Lucia Zouks by 25 runs. No.3 batsman, Kumar Sangakkara has had an average season so far by his standards, gathering 168 runs in 7 innings with only a single fifty to his name. Rovman Powell played an important knock against the Knight Riders and will be hoping to continue his good form for the Tallawahs for the remainder of this season.
