#2 Gavaskar unhappy with sledger Pant

21-year-old Rishabh Pant, who created a world record for dismissals in the Adelaide Test (and showcased his sledging talents to all), has been told to 'zip it up' by Sunil Gavaskar. Unhappy with the wicketkeeper's chatty demeanour behind the stumps, Gavaskar stated that while Pant did not cross a line, he was unhappy with the taunts at pacer Pat Cummins' batting.

“I totally understand encouraging your own team but to say something like, ‘come on Pat’ and all that, I don’t agree with. You shouldn’t be saying anything to the opposition. If you want, you can talk to your team," Gavaskar told Sony Six.

“But directly saying something to a fast bowler... if the next pitch at Perth is quick, I am sure Cummins is not going to forget that. So far it hasn’t gone beyond (the line), but at times you tend to get carried away.”
