South Africa's Hashim Amla and West Indies captain Jason Holder took the positives from their World Cup warm-up match that was abandoned because of rain on Sunday.
The South Africans had reached 55-0 when play was halted for the first time, and added 40 more runs before the match was finally called off.
West Indies will begin their World Cup campaign against Pakistan on Friday, while South Africa will face hosts England on Thursday.
