India completed an emphatic innings and 36 runs against England in the fourth Test at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Monday morning as Ravichandran Ashwin dominated proceedings, picking up yet another five-wicket haul to seal the series 3-0 with one more Test to go.

3-With his 24th wicket haul on Monday, Ravichandran Ashwin surpassed Kapil Dev for the most number of five-wicket hauls taken by an Indian bowler in Test cricket. The off-spinner is now third in the all-time Indian list, behind Harbhajan Singh and Anil Kumble.

2- Ashwin’s five-wicket haul was his 8th in Test cricket in 2016 and that puts him at joint second with Sydney Barnes for most number five-wicket hauls taken in a year. Muttiah Muralitharan and Malcolm Marshall are only ones ahead of him with 9 five-wicket hauls in a year.

1-Ashwin has now equalled the record for a bowler to have taken 25+ wickets in a series. He is now joint on top with Kapil Dev, who also achieved the mark 4 times during his career.

1-Ashwin is now the first Indian bowler to have taken six wickets in both innings of a Test on 3 occasions.

2-Ashwin’s 12-wicket haul in the Mumbai Test was the 5th time that he achieved the feat in Test cricket. Only Muralitharan has achieved the feat on more occasions(6).

2-Ashwin is now just on ten-wicket haul away from equalling Anil Kumble for an Indian bowler with most ten wicket hauls in Tests.

2-With this win, Virat Kohli has is now joint second in the list for an Indian captain having remained undefeated in the most number of consecutive Test matches. The former and his side have not lost a Test in the last 17 matches and another positive result in Chennai will mean equalling the All-Time Indian record, held by Sunil Gavaskar of 18 Tests.

1-With 8 Test wins in 2016, India have now equalled their personal record for most Test wins in a calendar year. They had won the same number of Tests in 2010 as well.

2-Ashwin’s match figures of 12-167 in the Mumbai Test is now the second best for an Indian bowler against England in Test cricket.Vinoo Mankad holds the record for the best figures- 12 for 108 that he took in 1952.

1-Alastair Cook’s defeat in the Mumbai Test is now his 21st Test as skipper and puts him on par with Mike Atherton for the most Test losses for an England skipper.
