While both India and West Indies gear up for a grueling T20I series that commences later today, all eyes will be on former Indian captain and current Hyderabad Cricket Association president Mohammad Azharuddin.

Not only will an international match take place under his presidency for the first time in Hyderabad, the North Stand at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium will also be named after him before the match gets underway.

Talking to IANS, an official revealed that another former India captain, Sunil Gavaskar, is likely to inaugurate the stand situated just above the VVS Laxman players pavilion. The official said:

"We will start the day by inaugurating the Mohammad Azharuddin stand which is now basically the North Stand. This will be the one above the V.V.S. Laxman players pavilion. Gavaskar could be the one who will be inaugurating the new stand in the name of one of India’s most successful captains."
