Rajesh Chauhan, the off-spinner who has played alongside the likes of Anil Kumble and Sachin Tendulkar during the 1990s, has been admitted in ICU after suffering a cardiac arrest on Monday.

The 47-year old still holds the incredible record of playing the most number of Test matches without being on the losing side. He played a big part in India’s triumph over Pakistan in 1997 when he hit Saqlain Mushtaq for a six in the last over.

Chauhan picked up 47 Test wickets in 21 Test matches and managed 29 ODI wickets in 35 fixtures. The bowler, who was dropped after displaying some poor form and a suspect action, was admitted at Apollo Hospital in Bhilai, according to the reports.

The man with 99 first-class appearances captured 318 wickets including four 10-wicket hauls for Madhya Pradesh. In his five-year-old international career, the tweaker registered a best match haul of 7 for 107 against Sri Lanka at Mumbai in 1997.
