Rumour was rife that IPL 7 may be moving out of India, or may be partly hosted by some other country, due to the general elections, which clashes with IPL.

Recent reports have suggested that the high-profile tournament, may finally be hosted in India itself, after the BCCI received positive response from Union home ministry.

Although, the franchises may not be able to play all their home matches in their own ground, as some of the games will be hosted at ‘neutral venues’ in the world’s biggest T20 extravaganza.

Although, the news haven’t been conveyed to the teams so far, but BCCI officials have reportedly reached an understanding with the government regarding the same.

“IPL is here to stay and if after every five years there is talk about taking the league abroad due to general elections, it’s not good for the stakeholders. This has to end somewhere,” a source said.

It has also been suggested that all the 23 ODI venues available in the country are set to be used by the BCCI, as they plan to use each and every of them.

Only last year, 12 grounds were used for IPL matches, while it has also been suggested that Delhi Daredevils may be required to play their hom matches in Dharamshala and Raipur.

Although the idea of a foreign country co-hosting the tournament has not been ruled out completely, with some suggesting that a few matches may be shifted out of India, if the IPL finds it tough to schedule all the matches.

At the IPL workshop, which was held in Singapore last November, many team owners had expressed their desire for the event to be played in India, while some politicians associated with the BCCI, are also against the IPL going out of the country.
